About This Mod

Survive with all your game knowledge: turns, auroral explosions, abundant radiation, bloodthirsty creatures and more.

Due to a number of issues between Nautilus and SMLHelper, Deathrun Remade will refuse to install if SMLHelper is present.

Functionality.

Deathrun Remade is a roguelike difficulty mode that aims to make the game more difficult for those who find the vanilla version too easy. He introduces new mechanics such as decompression sickness, expands the capabilities of forgotten vanilla objects such as a floating air pump, and increases the threat posed by most vanilla mechanics. The remake retains all the features of the original, but occasionally expands it with additional options and difficulty levels.

Deathrun is complicated. You won't make it the first time, but it's not scary. The main thing is not to win, but to see how far you can run, and to develop a plan for further action. It features a deep scoring system that rewards you for staying longer, achieving more, and overcoming more complex difficulty settings.

Almost every part of Deathrun is configured. You can immediately start playing with carefully balanced default settings or take control of the game with detailed settings. Note, however, that you will not be able to change the difficulty settings once you start playing.

If you want to have fun without spoilers, stop reading and dive into the game. If not, see the list of features below.

Toxic atmosphere.

It would be very convenient if you accidentally crashed on a foreign planet with a breathable atmosphere. It would be even worse if you didn't: The atmosphere is poisonous on Deathrun and must be filtered by a floating air pump before it can be made breathable.

Nitrogen and inflections

Deathrun adds decompression sickness, a new mechanics known as "kick." A new depth indicator has appeared at the top of the screen to show the current safe depth. The safe depth is approximately 3/4 of the current depth over time. If the depth is increased too sharply, the current safe depth will be exceeded and serious damage due to immersion disease will occur. Even at depths much smaller than the current safe depth, a sudden increase in depth can cause problems, so you should take regular breaks.

Pay attention to the tips to the items and elements of the databank. Some equipment and wild animals can help overcome this problem.

Rescue capsule failure.

The buoyancy system of the escape capsule breaks down and it sinks down to the seabed with you. Repairing the secondary system may return it to an upright position, but the capsule will remain underwater.

Fatal quantum explosion.

The first hour of the Deadly Run is a race against time. If the Aurora's drive core explodes, you'll have to evacuate somewhere deep inside the ship within an hour, or you'll lose your life.

Destruction.

After the explosion, you thought you were safe. The entire surface and the upper layers of the sea are contaminated with radioactive activity, making radiation protective clothing even more important. Fix the leak and pray that the radiation dissipates over time.

Personal crash depth.

Like your precious Seamoth, you have the depth of the collision. Dive too deep and the sea will kill you. Deep sea dwellers can find answers to questions about how to survive in the deep sea.

Aggressive wildlife

The creatures in 4546B have become more aggressive and worse. In the first 40 minutes of the game, they become more aggressive, follow you longer, attack more often, and find you from a greater distance. It is not recommended to stay in one place for a long time. Increased Damage

Think twice before trying to grab the Grim Reaper's hand. The damage from most resources in the game increased. Basic mechanics like Bence won't be able to shoot you with one shot, but if you're bitten by a leviathan, you'll be left alone.

Differences from original

If you are familiar with an older version of Deathrun, the changes include the following

Fully customized, game-independent nitrogen application. As a result, some calculations and speeds differ.

Damage from auroral explosions is dealt when a shock wave strikes. The shock wave has physical strength and damages other objects (bases, fish, ...) and other objects (bases, fish, ...).

Improved game mode user interface and menu.

Save data is now saved for each save slot; Deathrun no longer touches vanilla saves. Improved compatibility with autosave modes.

Compatibility with other mods has been significantly improved.

Mods can now be translated by adding a localization file to the DeathrunRemade/Assets/Localisation folder.

Fighting pacifists now includes the ability to deal more damage only from blades.

Photosynthetic tanks always work in sunlight, including on the surface.

Added a patch that allows surface air pumps to be deployed from the surface.

The scoring system has been reorganized. You can import old runs, but you will see different points.

Scanner rooms do not consume energy passively.
