About This Mod

Small (with minimal fps loss) realistic HDR. shader preset - blurred, fuzzy water effects add significantly darker and more realistic tones.

A flashlight is your best friend. There's something bad a few meters away, but you don't see it. But you can see them!

DEEP DARKNESS - from DeepEuphoria.

It is a small (with minimal fps drop) shader preset for making Subnautica and Below Zero more realistic.

Designed to make gaming more challenging!

Screenshots - Yes, screenshots from Below Zero, but that's because I'm playing it right now. This preset was developed and used by Subnautica and Below Zero.

Adding a blur effect to the water halves visibility and makes the ocean very difficult to navigate. It also affects land, making it dangerous to navigate the Below Zero ice sheet into mist and blizzard, and the already dark and murky sea becomes frightening, as you can now only see a few meters ahead.

HDR. makes deep caves and night dives dangerous, and the flashlight becomes your new best friend.

However, it was not only created for beautiful screenshots. After tens of hours of play, it was set up to make sure that it was perfectly suitable for normal gameplay. Because it is light, the frame rate should not drop much. On my system, it fell by less than 10 percent.

How to install

Download the The Deep Dark shader preset from the Nexus website, click "Manual download" and extract the zip file.

Important considerations.

Screenshots - Yes, screenshots from Below Zero, but that's because I'm playing them now. This preset was developed and used by Subnautica and Below Zero.

HDR. - This preset is designed for monitors with good HDR. If your monitor does not have HDR. or has a very basic HDR. implementation such as HDR.-400 or 600, this shader may be too dark to use.

Blur/turbidity effect - this amazing effect makes the water more realistic and difficult to navigate. This effect works best in bad weather, and in Sub-Zero fog and blizzard can reduce visibility to a level right in front of your hand, making it impossible to see the ground in front of you!

However, the distance seems blurred, showing small details of rocks, sand, snow and even the moon ....... The farthest terrain looks a little blurred, and sharp parts are lost even near. This is an unfortunate compromise, and shaders are not only applicable underwater.
