About This Mod

Added Captain Rex as a playable hero instead of Chewbacca in Instant Action and Arcade; requires the Captain Rex modifier from Poet for Lando.

Version 1.6: General fixes and new built-in icons from Deveroux.


Patch 1.6.1: Broken text corrected.




This mod replaces Chewbacca and adds Captain Rex as a brand new character with a spawn theme and special abilities. Comes with a voice line. Chui can also be replaced on OT/ST cards, but if you stick to Clone Wars cards, the loss of immersion should be minimal. Rex is fully usable by both the player and the AI. The kit includes a text plugin that replaces all the text in Rex's name and completely seals it!


Captain Rex's replacement for Poet's landau should be downloaded before this mod in the order it is downloaded! In other words, the boot order is as follows.

-Replacement of the Landau Captain Rex from the Poet.

-This mod

-Optional audio gun plugin

-Text plugin


Poet's Nightsniper doesn't need modification!


This mod is also recommended and is designed to be played with excellent optimization of Instant Action Optimisation 1.21.


Rex cannot change his rate of fire like a typical ARC paratrooper, but his pistol damage is compensated by increasing by 70%. Armed with a thermal explosive loaded with an energy pistol, the Commando Combat Focus ability that turns it into a tank, and Khan's Shoulder Charge, he can engage clankers at close range. Overall, Rex is a very aggressive character, able to inflict heavy damage provided his scope is accurate and he can dodge flying projectiles.


Known issues (to be resolved soon): 

-Rex's head can't be seen in Chewy's Vandor Heist suit.

-The text on the star card and the name of the costume have practically not changed.
