About This Mod

R.E.L.I.C is a simple vintage ReShade preset for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl.

R.E.L.I.C

This ReShade preset creates a vintage look that goes back to the Chernobyl disaster.

It prioritizes performance and simplicity.

I use AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, GIGABYTE RTX 4070 12GB OC and 32GB of DDR4 3600MHz RAM, and with this preset I lose only 1-2 FPS. If you notice a drop in FPS when using other shaders and effects, this is most likely due to an increase in frame delay. I have carefully selected effects that do not increase frame delay.

This preset is designed for those who want to get authentic sensations similar to the real Chernobyl disaster.

It won't open reactor number 4, but it will send you back to the past!

SET

This guide has been carefully crafted to ensure that you don't miss a single key installation step. If you need more help, even with this guide, I recommend that you look it up online.

STEP 1 - Download ReShade from their website at "https://reshade.me/".

STEP 2 - Double-click the downloaded .exe, then locate S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl .exe at STALKER 2 Heart of Chernobyl\Stalker2\Binaries\Win64\Stalker2-Win64-Shipping.exe and select it.

STEP 3 - Select the appropriate version of DirectX. For S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, this would be DirectX 10/11/12.

STEP 4 - Select my preset file, which is called "R.E.L.I.C" in the folder with the downloaded file. When prompted, do not check or uncheck shaders and effects; just click "Continue".

STEP 5 - After installation, drag the contents of the "REPLACE" folder to the folder with the previously downloaded .exe. If prompted to replace, select Yes. This step is optional, but it allows you to configure ReShade for optimal performance.

LAST STROKES

Now let's make sure everything works.

Press Home to open the ReShade menu.

The "End" key must turn on/off the preset. If this does not happen, set this option in the ReShade options.

If you have problems, press Delete to reload the preset. If that doesn't work, set this option in ReShade Preferences.

In the Add-ons tab at the top, make sure Depth Detection is disabled. This improves performance because my preset does not use the depth buffer.

Check "Enable only active effects" in the ReShade options to reduce startup time.

Finally, turn on "Performance Mode" in the bottom right corner to complete the R.E.L.I.C installation.
