How to pack and unpack mods

In this tutorial, I will explain how to package and unpack all .pak mods.

This guide is intended for editing/merging ready mods.

To merge, you will need:

1. Notepad++

2. BCompare (I really don't like the Notepad++ plugin)

3. RePack

To unpack:

1. Create a folder;

2. Put the repack and its contents there;

3. Add my files from the archive;

4. Open ReUnpak.bat using Notepad or Notepad++;

5. Add the name of your addon to the end of the file;

6. Run ReUnpak.bat and it will create a folder with unpacked addon in your working folder;

7. Now you can start working with unpacked addon.

To merge:

1. Create 2 folders, 1 and 2 will be the best solution;

2. Place the files you want to merge first in 1 and second in 2:

3. Open BCompare, click the Compare texts button;

4. Select the folder icon and select both https://i.ibb.co/Vv4r90s/image-2024-11-24-19-52-22.png files.

5. You can add different lines from one file to another by clicking the https://i.ibb.co/16t0nfs/photo-2024-11-24-19-51-29.jpg arrow.

6. When everything is ready, click on the merged text and press Ctrl+S, it will save the file.

For packing:

1. Create a folder;

2. Put the repack and its contents there;

3. Add my files from the archive;

4. Open Repak.bat using Notepad or Notepad++;

5. Edit the correct working folder paths and create a folder for your mod;

6. Make the correct game path in the working folder, for example, Stalker2\Content\GameLite\GameData

7. Put your mod in the GameData folder;

8. Add the name of your addon with _P at the end in Repak.bat;

9. Run Repak.bat and it will create the file youraddonname.pak_P.pak in your working folder;

10. Place your file in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods
