Realistic lighting updated! Ready for release Special Edition of Skyrim! This is a large-scale reworking of Skyrim lighting. Exteriors are also significantly redesigned! Realistic Lighting Overhaul does just that - he remakes Skyrim's lighting, and does it well. RLO comes with dozens of mods, all assembled in one, all made specifically for this fashion and all integrated for the best experience with the minimum amount of hassle. Yes, our team has made every module or mod and integrated it directly into RLO - so you don't need mod for fog removal, mod for band correction, mod for weather, etc. - however, our mod is modular, so you can choose between other mods! (Wow, I said a lot of mods!)


This mod tries to completely remake the lighting system, but do everything within the limits of the game engine, without trying to overdo and create annoyance for the user. Our main goal is compatibility, stability and ensuring FPS-friendly post-processing alternative as well as ENB-friendliness. We want to maintain maximum performance for midrange and low-end platforms while balancing it to make it look great even on high-end platforms. This means that you can use ENB with RLO and not be affected by two aspects of the graphics engine that reduce performance.


The goal of this fashion is to create a sense that Skyrim has ALWAYS been out in this form, and provide story-friendly lighting that integrates seamlessly into the game while correcting end-user bugs rather than creating them.


When completed, RLO will have over 10,000 edits, including lighting, lighting patterns, fog settings, light location, weather patterns, bug fixes, image spaces, saturation levels, eye adaptation, and more. Our main goal is to make fashion balanced, with emphasis on realism, without fake "ambient" lighting.

Every cell in the game is covered with our image spaces and lighting patterns, including all DLCs.


We have also manually created about 200 cells (very long and tedious work), replacing Bethesda lighting.


Large cities - interiors: Huge renovation work on 156 city cells - all interiors of cities are completed!


Main cities - exterior : A huge renovation, which updated ALL the external lighting of the city. Here are some examples: new lampposts, torches on the doors, new lighting of cemeteries, illuminated statues, glowing eyes added to the eagle statue in Waitrun, lighting of windows on trees and surrounding buildings! The Dungeon module, which makes dungeons darker and removes a lot of fake ambient light.


Dwemer Lighting Technology - new npcs, contraptions, books and interactive lighting devices.
