About This Mod
It is a lightweight combat mod without scripts and increases complexity. The battle became more deadly and relentless. Improved enemy AI.
This mod was designed to be compatible with almost everything. No NPC, Perk, or level lists have been changed. All magic of this mode is implemented through the combat styles, game settings, and NPC spells (player spells are not affected).
Combat Evolved changes almost every aspect of combat. The fight has become more complex, realistic and exciting! Enemies have become more aggressive and smarter. At all levels, enemies will present the player with a more difficult task.
This fashion makes the fight more dangerous and relentless. One of my biggest grievances about vanilla Skyrim and even popular battle modes is that after reaching 30th level and above, the fight turns into a joke and the player becomes virtually invulnerable. With my fashion, enemies are a threat at every level. You can no longer face the four enemies that beat you, while you do not move an inch and do not care about peace.
Stagger, knockdown, enemy skills, and enemy damage (and more) are enhanced to be more immersive and realistic. If you don't move, dodge, and actively use your brain, you will die a painful death. Combat sneaking has also been improved and made more difficult. You will no longer be able to guard your enemy at a distance and destroy them.
Enemies will actively attempt to surround the player and attack. They will also be more likely to beat, block, and evade attacks. Magical attacks cease to be a joke after level 30. Now you will feel when you are attacked by magic. Maximum spell resistance and armor rating were reduced. The poison of the creatures has also become much more dangerous. Giant spider poisoning doesn't cause less damage than a hot drink spilled on your knees!
To keep a balance with the popular battle updates, I had to rewrite some of their settings. At first I tried to avoid it and not touch their settings, but balancing the fashion became impossible. Yes, this mod could be improved if I edited NPC entries and level lists, but the whole purpose of this mod was to fit in almost any boot order and not be a compatibility nightmare.
Limitations:
Some creatures have a fixed level and will be well below the player level. This is a known issue and will not be fixed by this mod as it is beyond its capabilities. Enemies that level the same as the player must present greater difficulty.
No mode will make enemy behavior 100% realistic. There are many limitations associated with the artificial intelligence engine provided to us by Skyrim! All I can hope for is a better experience.
Magic:
The NPC spells became more powerful, but players' spells remained unchanged. To balance player magic and NPC magic, I recommend that players install one of the popular magic mods.
Important:
Many users will find that they need to reduce the difficulty of the game by one parameter, which in most cases will still increase the overall complexity with the mode enabled. There is no longer a need to raise the difficulty level to get a difficult fight. I recommend that most users play at or below Adept level when they start a new game and then increase their difficulty level by one step when they reach 20-30 levels. Before the development of this fashion I played on the complexity of Master or Legendary, and now I play on Expert. Please reduce the difficulty of the game by one step after installing Combat Evolved. If the battle is still too complex, reduce the difficulty by one more step. Most users find that by lowering the difficulty level of a game by one level, the mod still provides a 25-50% increase in overall game complexity compared to what they used at a higher difficulty level.
