A simple realistic reshade for RDR2 (Vulkan Edition)
About This Mod
Simple Reshade preset and shader pack for RDR2 VULKAN edition
This preset will provide you with ultramimics even at low and medium graphics settings in the game.
It does NOT use heavy or complex shaders (e.g. AO, HDR., Ambient Light, etc.); only simple shaders and JUST FACE!
12/19/2019 UPDATE (V1.7.5.1L)
- since the official Reshade installer and binary have been updated from V4.5.0 to V4.5.1 (the default path for the Reshade Vulkan Global folder and the registry path have been changed in Reshade V4.5.1), i must update the installation instruction. Now the steps are even easier and shorter with Reshade V4.5.1 (thanks to Crosire for the update).
- Update the Readme file (with new installation instructions) within the archived file
- Removed some unnecessary effects
Note:
> DO NOT use this mod while playing online
> Support for Vulkan API based on the new version of Reshade 4.5.1 (special thanks to Crosire and Thalixte for this!)
> Vulkan API with Reshade 4.5.1 is tested on Epic Games Launcher and latest RDR.2 updates (1.0.1232.13)
> This version of Vulkan Edition does not have stereoscopic 3D mode
> for API DirectX 12 and lite
How to install (read carefully!)
Make sure you run RDR.2 with API Vulkan. Also make sure that you DO NOT run RDR.2, R* Launcher, R* social club with administrator privileges. This may cause Reshade Vulkan global settings to go to the wrong path in your Windows registry!!! (Thanks to Meegja and Thalixte for this info)
Before installing this mod, clean up or move the previous Reshade (dxgi.dll, reshade.ini, reshade-shaders folder, and my previous version of Reshade presets and shaders) from the game folder.
Download and install Reshade 4.5.1 (or later) from the official Reshade page (https://Reshade.me).
In the Reshade Installer Welcome screen, DO NOT select any game, just select and click on "Turn Reshade Vulkan on/off globally (affects all Vulkan games)".
Then check the box "Enable Reshade Vulkan globally (affects all Vulcan games)" (this is very important, otherwise RDR.2 will not start with those loungers (Epic, Steam, etc.). Take a look at the screenshot below:
After you turn on Reshade Vulkan global, close Reshade Installer by clicking the X in the upper right corner.
Open Windows Explorer. Go to Folder Options, and then unhide the system folder (C:\ProgramData) by selecting Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Disks.)
Extract the Simple Realistic files you have backed up to C:\ProgramData\ReShade as shown below:
Take a deep breath. Pray for a moment and then launch the game. I hope you'll succeed! :)
