About This Mod

Rockstar has not given us any subtle control over our walking/running speed. This mod is designed to bring you closer to the control you would have had if you were playing with a controller.


This mod respects the default behavior of the game and only improves it, not cancels it. I've worked hard to make it as unobtrusive as possible, it should feel like it's a vanilla function of the game.


The mod is set up (via ini file), so you can leave only those functions that you need. Just read the configuration file, which is very detailed.


Features:

1. Easy Running: Press Shift to run a little slower than standard speed. (The speed of light running is adjustable.)

2. Jogging Switch: Press Shift to switch between running and walking. This is useful if you don't want to stop abruptly and want to make the transition smoother. This works with easy running, normal running (hold down Shift, then release) and all custom speeds.

3. Fast Walking: Press Alt (adjustable) to switch between fast and normal walking speed or hold Alt for slow walking. You can also easily switch between easy running and fast walking. If you're using easy running, just hit Alt to slow down to a custom fast walking speed. (same with Fast Walk > Light Run).

!! THIS FUNCTION CANCELS THE "Show Radar" FUNCTIONS on ALT, but you can still use them when not moving. Just release WASD and press ALT to control the radar.

4. Custom speed: use the mouse wheel to "break" away from the current speed and get more subtle control. After pressing "Shift" you will return to the default behavior, so it is not as aggressive as in other mods.

You can also run in the camp/indoor environment by pressing Shift + Mouse Wheel Up. Then you can control the speed with the mouse wheel. Pressing "Shift" again will return you to your normal state.


Additional features (disabled by default):

Disable first-person running: If you want to walk instead of running first-person by default, use the DISABLE_AUTO_RUN_IN_FIRST_PERSON_CAMERA setting.


Notes:

If you have other similar mods installed, you might want to remove them or disable those features that duplicate each other.

I don't plan to add support for horses or create a similar mod (I know some of you might ask for it).


Installation:

Requires ScriptHookRDR2 from Alexander Blade

1. Put WalkingControlComplete.asi and WalkingControlComplete.ini in the game folder.
