About This Mod
The Battle of Berlin, the Soviet Union's so-called Strategic Offensive on Berlin, also known as the Fall of Berlin, was the first strategic attack by the Soviet Union on Berlin. It was one of the last major attacks on European theaters during World War II.
The garrison consisted of several depleted and disorganized divisions of the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS, as well as poorly trained members of the Volkssturm and Hitler Youth. The following week, the Red Army gradually occupied the entire city.
At 4:30, Hitler committed suicide (several of his officers also committed suicide shortly thereafter). The city's garrison surrendered 5/2, but fighting continued northwest, west and southwest of the city until the end of the war in Europe 5/8 (5/9 in the Soviet Union).
