KSP Quick Tutorial - Kerbal Engineer HUD Setup
By default, KER uses the media unlock system. This means that in carrier mode, you will need either a kerbal with engineering skills, an engineer chip/ER7500 part on board the ship, or a level 3 tracking station to operate in flight. If one of these three conditions is not met, the KER icon in flight will be disabled and grayed out. This mode is fully optional and can be changed from Career to No Part by clicking Settings in the Kerbal Engineer Redux editor window.

KSP-AVC Update Notification is ready
