About This Mod
The game Mojave adds a Mark I Model B Gyrojet Rocket Carbine with custom grids, textures, sounds, icons, ammunition types, and integration into the level list. The Gyrojet series of pistols and carbines was developed in the early 1960s by Robert Meinhardt and Art Beale of MBAssociates. The pistols fired special 13 mm rockets and did not require a heavy barrel or barrel box of conventional firearms. The weapons were very light and were made mainly of sheet metal and thin aluminum. The unique jacketless rocket used an inclined nozzle instead of slicing, which allowed the rocket to rotate. Behind the gun barrel was a port, through which the exhaust of the missile was exited, which minimized the recoil. The cannon was very quiet, as the pressure that propelled the projectile was gradually relieved rather than suddenly. However, the disadvantage of this system was that the rocket had to travel a distance of about 10 meters before it reached its maximum speed, making its effectiveness at close distances problematic. In addition, the 1960 processing technology did not allow for the production of complex munitions in a cost-effective and consistent manner. Sales of the Gyrojet series were low, and production ceased soon after the gun's caliber had to be reduced for legal reasons. The weapon had a limited use in the Vietnam War. This modification proposed an alternative history in which the processing technology could meet the demand for the hyrogenic munitions, and MBAssociates continued to develop their production and design until the outbreak of war. Thus, in addition to the shotgun, a gyroreactive carbine appeared. The Model B carbine was designed as a shotgun. An exhibition dedicated to these weapons can be seen at the offices of Repucon. The weapon uses a new type of ammunition - 13 mm missiles, which can be found from certain traders, looted from the enemy or recycled in workbenches. Special ammunition - armor-piercing and high-explosive shells - can only be purchased from traders. Missile casings are needed to produce ammunition. Sleeves can be obtained by robbing enemies knocked down by a gyroscope, or by recycling them from scrap on a workbench. By default, the weapon is silent and classified as an improved hold weapon. The weapon has a strange reloading process, so the animation is not exactly the same as the weapon. As an option, a scripted version is available, simulating the unique features of the original Gyrojet, but causing less damage at a close distance. The script works in such a way that the closer you are to the target, the greater the damage resistance. The maximum damage is dealt by the weapon at a distance of 15 meters or more. But this scenario has its drawback. Each time a close-range shot is fired, the DR of the target accumulates, so a target with a large amount of health can become unkilled at a close range. To correct this, either drop the DR at a distance of at least 15 meters, or shoot the target in the head. If you want to see the script, it is included in the fashion image. The weapon is also added to the level-up list, and can often be found at enemies with shotguns. It is also sold by Gun Runner and Cliff Briscoe; 13 mm rockets are attached to the NPC with weapons. It is also sold by Chet, Armory, and Cliff Briscoe and can be manufactured in recharging stalls. Boxes needed to make ammunition can be looted from enemies shot by gyrorockets (they can also be given if shot by the NPC). However, specialized ammunition can only be obtained from traders.
