About This Mod

The aim of this fashion is to provide realistically dark nights, but light enough for high resolution with a sullen atmosphere, while improving the stunning modTrue Stormsfrom Fadingsignals. By high resolution I mean that I removed most of the unnatural "fog" that FO4 is famous for to provide a clear HD image, and replaced it with a stunning and realistic True Storms volume fog, where it fits the weather. I also preserved high-quality cloud visuals for some brutal stormy weather. And carefully worked out the color palette of each type of weather to reflect the temperature, atmosphere and light mass. It remains very playable on the FPS, i.e. it leans a bit into the gaming platforms and monitors - you will have no problem if you have already run True Storms.

The main focus of True Nights (and what sets it apart from the popular Unforbidables "Darker Nights" fashion) is that True Nights retains a visual high-definition picture, removing static layers of fog. True Nights is designed to get darker in the distance, as in real life, and to leave a little useful light closer to you. There is much more light than the screenshots seem to show. This is a kind of illusion, because the distant objects, horizon, etc. are obscured, which creates a deeper "feeling" of darkness, while in the near zone there is useful light for movement. The feeling that you can't tell where the earth ends and the sky begins has a profound effect on your experiences, and True Nights uses it as often as possible where it's appropriate! This depth creates cinematic visual imagery with deep shadows and dark alleys more reminiscent of horror movies and games like Silent Hill, a darkness in which lurks enemies waiting to leap out on you!

I carefully designed each weather pattern individually to make them unique and unique. I emphasized the cinematic, often moody, and at times claustrophobic atmosphere. For each type of weather, I took into account the light of the moon compared to ambient light, the temperature/tint of light in the atmosphere, and various forms of occlusion, appropriate for weather and temperature: cool fog on a cool cloudless night, rising fog on a warm cloudy/rainy night, oppressive thunderstorms, a stifling/gray atmosphere with cloudy clouds, light fog with clear skies, and claustrophobic heavy fogs that engulf you! Often they are quite thin, and sometimes dramatically different from each other, but I have retained beautiful cloud layers and characteristic lighting, and I hope I have not overroasted anything.

Night darkness depends heavily on the weather. While the clear sky at night provides very good visibility, in bad weather it gets very dark and the ink atmosphere obscures vision. In bad weather, it is convenient to have a lamp with you, as it should be. It's also fun!

To help you fight at night, prepare your choice of lighting fixture: Peep Boy flashlight - tactical flashlight - rocket launcher - night vision goggles - R91 assault rifle with tactical lantern - tactical weapon lights or night vision perk for these mutant sub-humans! But throw away all hope if you fall into a night dust storm, fortunately very rare.

People who understand what I mean when I say you will need to use shape, shine, shadow, silhouette and movement... should be here at home. I tried to balance the effects of direct light, ambient light, and occlusion with those effects in mind.

Do not forget that this mod is designed for use with ENB, which allows you to adjust the brightness of night, day, dawn and dusk on the fly while in the game, according to your personal preferences. Read the instructions in the article "Too dark?" below.

Finally, the day's experience of fadingsignals 'True Storms' and the great sunrises and sunsets are almost untouched. I have changed the night and patterns that lead to the rise and the sunset only minimally, so that the mixture is smooth and natural.

REQUISITES:

True Storms by Fadingsignal.

-Set with 'rolling fogs' option. Without fogs, the experience of the game will be much worse.

ENB v0307 by Boris Vorontsov

- Powerful yet easy to use graphics tool. With ENB you can adjust the brightness of night, day, dawn and twilight to your liking. By itself, ENB has little impact on FPS. Installing ENB is easy, and there are several guides available on youtube.

ENB presets - optional:

'Subtle ENB' -True Nights was created using an excellent preset from noidkid - I highly recommend it as a minimal performance impact for ENB v0.307!

Vogue ENB (LITE) - According to user reviews, this preset is well suited.

Your experience will depend heavily on which ENB preset you choose, and you should expect you to have to make some minor adjustments to get exactly the experience you want (see below). If your favorite ENB preset doesn't work with True Nights, write and I'll help you any way I can, but it might be better to ask the author of ENB. Ask the author of the ENB preset if they can help, and they can do much more than I!
