About This Mod

Ever since I first crossed the threshold of Goodnaydor, I have realized that I want to have my home there. And not just a separate inner cell that would completely cut me off from the atmosphere of this place, no. I wanted to have a house where I could look out of the windows and see the garlands and cables swarming in the wind, watch the guards patrolling the street and hear people talking, watch the mayor himself standing on his balcony... This mod is designed to offer just that, but in order to achieve this goal, it must have a few small quirks. To be precise, with two. They are not some serious or game-breaking issues, and I will try to explain what they are. You will decide for yourself whether they are decisive for you or not.

Please don't forget to also read the sticky post in the comments section!

EXPLANATION

The whole apartment is built into the outer shell of the Memory Den building. These building envelopes are textured and visible only from the outside - if you turn off clipping and go inside, there will still be collisions, but they will seem invisible. So I was able to build my apartment high above the entrance to the Den:

This arrangement allowed me to get a room with an external location, which not only does not suffer from the rain, but also offers a magnificent view of the changing lighting outside:

Unfortunately, there are two disadvantages to this approach. One of the problems is that the appearance does not correspond to the internal, that is, from the street level not visible any part of the apartment. Some might call it a problem... i call it a bonus - i could go for wild experiments with window sizes. I will write about the second problem below.

PLOT

Graceful marble floors and walls, and my favorite fantasy XXL size windows:

Small Corner Bathroom, Bedroom... or whatever else you decide to arrange:

A somewhat hidden placement of an ugly workshop that can now serve as a counter to your mess:

Starting with version 1.0, a narrow fake balcony was created behind the southern window, decorated with many frizzy vines. You can't go out on the balcony, but you can place some small decorations on it (just don't forget to use the TCL command if you want to remove them later, because the window will interfere with you). Here's what it looks like:

The problem of fashion number two is that both the balcony and the lianas must be present, so please don't ask me to make a version without them, it won't happen. That's why: the shell of the Memory Den building in which the apartment is hidden is not a simple block with smooth walls - it has corners, slots, various additional meshes, and some of them are partially manifested when looking at certain angles from inside the apartment. Most of them look good enough to easily take them for a part of the building, but some are real semi-textured leathers. I did my best to disguise them by placing a fake balcony and lianas, but if you turn the camera at the right angle, you can still see them - look, for example, at the thin white vertical line at the left edge of the screenshot above, it's just the least annoying of them. However, if these things don't bother you, you can remove lianas using any of the Spring Cleanup mods.

Anyway, back to the good.

The apartment has a separate, private entrance to the building (located in the east lane):

And own elevator:

But the most important thing is the view outside the windows, especially at night. I have given a special flavor to the immediate surroundings, so that after sunset it does not seem to be just a clot of darkness.

UPDATE 1.1

Now you have neighbors... and something else.

Alex used to be a homeless brawler, but now he's trying to make a living at Goodneighbor. Starting from scratch is not easy, but he hopes for a brighter future. He smokes a lot and spends a lot of time just watching other vagrants passing downstairs.

Judy's passion is cooking. She is not very good at this, but it does not prevent her from turning anything that comes across any edible, into an exquisite dish for her personal (not) pleasure. One day she'll understand how to do it.

Resma is probably the first lady in the ranks of the Good Neighborhood Guards, currently enjoying a well-deserved rest... watching the city from his broken window. A workaholic, that's who.

All of them are simple, purely decorative NPC, nothing more. I have given each of them a very simple daily routine so that you can unabashedly spy on them from your eastern window, but they will not leave their small homes and interact with you. A stray cat who came to drink from your new rainwater collector (right outside the west window), and stayed here, safe from a high eaves.

As you probably guessed, this is a purely cosmetic update, in the apartment has not changed anything, so if everything suits you, you do not need to download a new file.

UPDATE 1.2

How about... a real balcony?

The view from above is good, of course, so I decided that we would not be disturbed by a real balcony, which you can go to. In this update, the narrow and inaccessible balcony is replaced by a wide one, which can be reached using stairs. I know the stairs are not the most comfortable and realistic way to get to the balcony, but it was the only way to go through the Memory Den wall back and forth. Besides, I didn't want to ruin the look with a real door.

The balcony is suspended and companions can use the stairs while playing in the sandbox.

How to decorate a new space:

The best way to do this is to click on the workshop to bring up the construction menu, then use the tcl command and move to the balcony. There, use tcl again to disable the command, and proceed with the decoration. If you want to decorate the apartment from the inside, be sure to put the furniture behind the lianas that you see outside the window, as they indicate the location of the outer wall of Memory Den.

This concludes my long presentation.

Try fashion and if you like it, despite all its quirks,

share the screenshots - i will be more than happy to see them.

Don't forget to watch the images sent by the users - they are all amazing!
