Sungchwi Irkkung ('87-'23), a car built on the basis of the korean automotive industry in the 1980s.


History.

Songchwi Motors (성취자동차) was founded in 1950 and became the first car manufacturer in North Korea. It mainly produced rebranded cars developed in other (friendly) countries.

However, in the early 1980s, it was tasked with developing and producing new multipurpose passenger cars. Several Western cars were imported, dismantled and modified. The result was Songchwi Ilkung, the twin of the ETK I series.

Officially billed as "the best car in history", the Ilkung was in fact of poor quality due to its low-cost materials and lack of manufacturing technology.

However, in addition to civilian use, the Irkun was used as a taxi and police car, and was also produced as a military vehicle, as it was one of the few domestic cars.

In 2005, Irkun received improvements such as fuel injection engine, passenger side mirror, head restraints and interior upholstery removal. This model is still in production today.


About modifications

There are several sources of inspiration for this modification, the most notable being the Kaengsaeng 190, a copy of the Mercedes 88. There are two engines, several tuning parts and several fairings to choose from. If it doesn't sound boring, slow, and unimpressive, then it was meant to be.
