About This Mod

THIS WORKS ONLY WITH THE 2.1.0 RELEASE OF ENDERAL SE.

Fixed scenario _00e_class_openclassmenuscript used for meditation zone in Enderal SE version 2.1.0, which unlocked the ability to change the POV in meditation area to 3rd person and allowed actions in this area.

Justification

  • The script that controls your character's transition to and from the meditation area uses the Papyrus script, namely:
  • Make your character look in the first person if you were in the third person
  • Turns off character control so you can only move, jump and activate nodes.
  • Disable character model rendering
  • Handles exiting the area, returning your character to a third-person view if you are in a third-person view meditation area.

If you use a combination of Smoothcam and Improved Camera SE in the boot order for Enderal SE - you will face a strange problem with the 4th feature above. Calling the Papyrus ForceThirdPerson() function does not work well with the two modes, setting a minimum level of scaling and generally tinkering with the camera interpolation after exiting. This can be fixed by pressing the hotkey to switch the POV back to first-person view and then back to third-person view. This affects your zoom level, and you'll have to set it back to what you prefer; that's how this customization was born.

I removed 9 lines of code from the script and recompiled it, allowing you to save the POV your character was in when entering the Meditation Zone, switch freely between the 1st and 3rd person, and perform common actions in this area such as exposing and attacking weapons.

No other functionality in the script was changed - I included a modified .psc file and a picture for reference - I played for about 6 hours in the playthrough and didn't run into any problems, so I release it as it is.

Scripts may be strange and not updated at save time, so you may need to start a new save/run to see how these changes take effect. This change also does not take effect when you first enter the meditation area after the introductory video, as it is handled by the main quest scenarios. That's normal.
