About This Mod

A script that makes the keyboard a little more powerful by using separate keys to switch to specific weapons. It can also be used to reboot unused keys or to use Cavaliere R in the Bloodpalace.

The main purpose of this Autohotkey script is to make switching Dante's weapons easier or unnecessarily complicated, depending on how you look at it: This is a free adaptation of the script I created on MonsterHunter.World: this script allows Dante to equip melee and ranged weapons, each of which can be assigned to a separate key.

Dante can equip 13 weapons, and can switch between them with two buttons. In fact, switching to a certain weapon may require up to six keystrokes, depending on the position of the weapon wheel. This script is designed to reduce this process to the click of a button, regardless of what you are equipped with at the moment and where you are going.

For example, if you use this script for Liberion, DSS and DSD spam, you can assign this weapon to any three buttons. Then, even if all seven melee weapons are equipped, the entry would look like this:

Key 1 > Stinger > Key 2 > Stinger > Key 3 > Stinger > Key 1 > Stinger > Key 2 > Stinger > Key 3 > Stinger.

and so on every day.

In version 2.00 Virgil added support for this feature, so you don't have to worry about switching between left and right keys, and you can enjoy such a simple luxury as a dedicated key for each weapon.

To improve usability, several additional features have been added:

- Ability to rebind some keys that usually do not occur in the game. These include 'tab', 'caps lock', 'grave accent/tilde' (` or ~), left windows, and 'scroll up' and 'scroll down' on the mouse wheel.

- The "hot-switch" keys to a certain load of weapons use Cavalier R in Palace of Blood.

Parts of this script depend on the memory address entry. Script checks if Dante is the active character before making changes and never fails. This script can be considered a cheat, but it was written simply to make the game more fun.

How to use.

Extract the file to the folder you choose.

Open the settings.ini file and configure the key mapping (this is very important. (Also, if you are using the toggle feature, be sure to specify in-game bindings for toggling the weapon in the 'meleeWeaponButton' and 'rangedWeaponButton' fields.)

Run the .exe file or the .ahk file.

If DMC5 is running at the same time, the first DMC5 will be running.

Watch the video in the section to see how the script works in practice.
