About This Mod

Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) provides an in-game menu from which users of mods can customize their mods.

This is the central place for setting up the mode, which can be accessed through the main menu and ESC menu or by pressing the Insert key (default).

Are you a fashion designer? Check out the documentation on integrating mods with MCM; it's a simple process and there are many features you definitely want to hear about!

Functions

Easy setup: MCM provides an easy and intuitive way to change mod settings. No need to manually edit JSON files - although still allowed, as in the old days!

Instant saving and loading of settings: In contrast to the traditional way of working with settings, MCM integrated mods update the settings in real time as they are changed, without requiring a save reload or SE commands.

Dependency Checking: MCM also checks your mods for missing or out-of-date dependencies.

UI-independent: MCM's core configuration code is designed to operate independently of IMGUI. This means that even if IMGUI support is completely removed, MCM will still work. Users who cannot see the current user interface will still be able to use the hidden benefits of MCM to manage their settings and edit them using JSON files.

Secure Save: MCM does not write anything to your save files - all changes are made in memory and then saved to JSON files. MCM can also be safely deleted without affecting your save files at any time, provided that any mods that use it are also disabled or deleted;

Multiple profiles: MCM allows you to manage multiple configuration profiles, so you can have different settings for different walkthroughs/characters;

Reduced user errors: MCM performs multiple configuration checks, reducing the risk of user error when configuring mods, even when manually editing JSON files.

Export and import settings: The mod settings are stored for each profile and each mod in JSON files in Script Extender\BG3MCM, making it easy to back up and restore settings.

Concise user interface: MCM combines all mod settings in one interface, reducing screen clutter.

Reliability: MCM has dozens of automated tests to ensure that it works as expected, non-stop;

Localization support: MCM allows you to view settings in your preferred language if translations are provided by mod authors/translators;

Installation

Installation is essentially the same as any other fashion pack and can be performed with new and existing saves:

In Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager (or use Vortex as you wish), install/enable Script Extender (SE) by clicking the Tools tab in the upper left corner of the program and selecting Download and Extract Script Extender. Or press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+T while the BG3MM window is in focus.

Import this mod's .zip file into the Mod Manager, then drag the mod from the right panel of the Mod Manager to the left panel; Be sure to drag it to the top of your loading order, as it must be placed above any mods that rely on this framework;

Save and export your shipping order. MCM will now be automatically matched and available for any mods that can use it.

You will see the MCM button on the ESC menu in the game. By default, you can also open it by pressing the INSERT key.

Support for UI/IMGUI in SE has been greatly improved since startup, but you may still encounter some issues that are beyond my control. If you do not see the MCM window, you can try the following:

Restart the game (do not use the Alt key before reaching the main menu.);

Disable overlays (Discord/AMD/NVIDIA/OBS/etc.)

switch the rendering API to Vulkan/DX11.
