About This Mod

This is a beta build. It can be played, but it has not yet been thoroughly tested!


The pause feature has been updated in version 0.7:


"True Pause" will cause your actions to be queued during a pause, and then run all at once when you take the pause off. This should be similar to the "pause" feature of the original Baldur's Gate games. This feature is enabled by default, but it can be disabled (from the MCM menu) for users who prefer the old behavior. This feature should work with both the mouse and keyboard as well as the controllers. Please let me know if you encounter bugs related to this feature — I spent quite a bit of time testing it, but it ended up being quite difficult to implement, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if there were bugs. Also in version 0.7, you can now specify the AI archetype for your protagonist, so that your wizard Tav can't all the time just with a staff.


Note: You can right-click to cancel a motion that is initiated during a pause. However, due to technical limitations, actions initiated during a pause cannot be undone.




I am gradually adding the ability to customize my companions to Brawl. Version 0.7.1 introduces the first part of this, setting the maximum level of the spell slot allowed to be used by an AI companion. There is also a new option called "Hogwild Mode" that makes companion spells and other actions 100% free (no spell slots, no ki points, etc.), and if active, companions are more likely to cast high-level spells - but so are enemies! Currently, the companion's AI will only use attack spells, so if you want to heal or strengthen it, you need to switch to the character and use it yourself. Note that to avoid blowing up your group, your companions will only use area-damaging spells if they have the passive Sculpture Spells effect!


Version 0.7.5 includes customizable actions with automatic hot keys (labeled 1-9 in the custom actions pane) for keyboard and mouse and controllers. By default, they are bound to LAlt+number (for example, press left alt and 2 at the same time to use custom action 2), but you can reassign them from the MCM menu, on the Keybindings tab. These actions will automatically target the enemy closest to you using the hotkeys. To change a goal, you can use a dot and a comma, similar to how tab-hovering works in games like World of Warcraft, which will mark your current goal and make it glow blue so you can see what you're shooting at. You can also re-bind them in the MCM menu. If you cast a positive or healing spell, the hotkey action will automatically target the caster instead. Similar settings for controllers can be found in the Controllers tab in MCM.
