LAFS - Lightweight Fire Support with Artificial Intelligence
About This Mod
Light AI Fire Support aims to provide AI with dynamic access to many previously unavailable weapons, increasing threats, providing a more enjoyable combat experience for players, and providing a fair fire-support system that avoids the pitfalls of manual activation. Demonstration mission is the easiest way to avoid misconfiguration of the system. Simply copy the functional system from the demonstration mission. LAFS main features Scout system: The reconnaissance team must personally detect enemy forces before requesting fire support for the target. Artillery: The artillery is detected automatically and can perform tasks of firing from both ATGM and smoke weapons. Rocket, mortar and howitzer artillery fire at different speeds, diffuse fires, etc. Missile artillery bypasses the "search and detection" used by the other two types of artillery in HE missions. Artillery can also move and automatically perform Hit and Run missions. Air Strikes: Both helicopters and aircraft can be used, each of which can perform different missions. Guns, rockets, bombs, and cluster bombs work in the same way that common CAS missions and CAP target missions do. Aircraft can be built, stored, and refueled from an air base; FPV and FPV dropper drones use Crocus FPV, and drone groups can deploy grenade and mortar drones or use AP and AT FPV drones. If the target is large enough, they can be deployed by swarm.EDIT: For those who think it is possible, it should be noted that the drone system cannot be separated from the LAFS. The drone system cannot work without LAFS; LAFS is the system itself, not some magical AI I built into the system. If you want to use only drones, expand only this group. That's all you have to do. Counter-turrets: Both AI and player can attack with counter-turrets. In short, different types of projectiles have different detection ranges. As long as the enemy unit is close and can hear it, the gunner is more aware of its position. In addition, the player places markers on the map, which become more accurate as information accumulates. This allows the player to counter-attack artillery, but once enough information is received, the AI will also target the position. Supply chain: Some combat units, such as artillery, drones and aircraft, consume supplies during their firing missions. When supplies run out, trucks are called from supply depots to replenish the support group. Credits: This mod uses the nearest aerodrome search script from gc8 and the launcher shooting script from _Tally. Both scripts are mentioned in the code with a reference to the original source. Compatibility: This mod is designed to be compatible with LAMBS, disabling LAMBS functionality for some groups used by LAFS. Do not use only the LAMBS artillery system at the same time; Crocus will work without FPV if you do not want to use FPV; other AI mods such as VCOM and DCO are not planned and can conflict; and added rough compatibility with DCO (LAFS disables only those groups that use it). Personally, I do not use DCO and cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation with them.
