About This Mod

E2TB is a small module for Arma3 that allows you to pass data to a landscape builder.


Why?

If you try to import other custom tools that create objects from EDEN or MISSION to Terrain Builder, returning the object is often incorrect, and this eliminates many problems. You can check the results in this comparison image:

How it works

1. Copy an object to the clipboard:

* From Eden: click on "Export> Export to Land Builder (E2TB)" menu.

* From Task (SP): Perform the Copy Map Object to Clipboard action. To do this, you first need to enter "E2Tb_Module" into the task.


2. Copy the contents of the clipboard to a file and save it using "Extensions".text"

3. Inside Landscape Builder Map: File> Import> Objects

E2TB uses the size specified by the following tools:


*XCam

* Surface Artist

* Map Builder


Note

EDEN and Terrain Builder have some objects that behave very differently. These are objects that have the 'placement =slopelandcontact' property at the geometric position.


The purported behavior of these objects is to stay level on the ground and adapt to the terrain. However, you can easily place it horizontally in the eden, but it follows the ground as you move it into the landscape builder. For example, if you put barbed wire on a hillside shelter, when the land is handed over to the developer, the barbed wire will pass under the slope of the ground and be incorrectly installed.


As a compromise, E2TB assumes that all of these facilities are commonly used for their intended purpose: depending on the location where they should cover 95% of the use. If you want to use these objects differently, you should fix them manually in Landscape Builder.


Since the end result is that EDEN and Terrain Builder do not treat these objects in the same way, I would like to see if I can find other solutions.
