About This Mod
Improved Extinguish Mod (1.20.4) increases the persistence of the fire ban on the Ether by adding a new variant of the fire block. This mode changes the way torches and lanterns are placed in the ether measurement. It removes the usual mechanisms that prevent them from being placed, and instead allows these blocks to be turned into extinguished variants - a extinguished torch and a extinguished torch, respectively.
These two blocks look like burning blocks, but both look like extinguished flames and do not emit light. This change turns the placement of these blocks into a state without light, which is more consistent with the behavior of other blocks in the ether, such as fires and candles. Similarly, if you break a extinct torch or a extinct light, the burning torch will return, as will the candle.
